ROME, Aug. 30 (Xinhua) -- AC Milan have confirmed that they will sign Nigel De Jong provided he passes the medical examination on Friday.

Milan's talks with Manchester City for the 27-year-old have been going on for several days, and the Serie A club channel announced on Thursday night that "De Jong is on his way to Milan. The medical will be performed tomorrow."

It is suggested that De Jong is already at the airport with Milan director Ariedo Braida. The Dutch player's current deal is due to expire at the end of the season.
