LONDON, Aug. 25 (Xinhua) -- British theoretical physicist Stephen Hawking is likely to be involved in the opening ceremony of the London Paralympic Games to be held on Aug. 29.
But it is unclear whether he will be in the stadium or on the big screens, the Independent newspaper said here on Saturday.
Paul Deighton, chief executive of Locog, said that "on the thought-provoking to lots of loud noises spectrum" the ceremony would be nearer the former.
Hawking, 70, regarded as one of greatest physicists in the world, has a motor neurone disease related to amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, a condition that has progressed over the years. He is now almost completely paralysed and communicates through a speech generating device.
