TBILISI, March 31 (Xinhua) -- Hosts Georgia on Saturday defeated Ukraine 1-0 to top Group Three of the Elite Round of qualification for the 2012 UEFA European Under-17 Football Championship finals.
Spain finished runners-up with a 4-0 trouncing over England.
The qualification is known as the elite round which is actually the second round of preliminaries with seven groups of four teams each.
Aleko Mzevashvili scored the lone winner for the hosts who garnered seven points from two wins and one draw.
Georgia will now join Belgium, France, Germany, Iceland, the Netherlands, Poland and championship hosts Slovenia in the grand finale.
