MADRID, Feb. 14 (Xinhua) -- The Spain playmaker Xavi Hernandez will miss Barcelona's Champions League match with Bayer Leverkusen due to a calf injury, said the Spainish first division giant Tuesday.

The midfielder will miss the first leg of the last-16 match on Wednesday at Leverkusen due to swelling in his right calf.

Xavi ,32, only managed to play once in Barca's past four games. His teammate, defender Gerard Pique, was also omitted in the lineup.
