RIO DE JANEIRO, Feb. 12 (Xinhua) -- After three-week time uncertainty, Adriano received the news on Sunday that he was included in Corinthians' squad of the 2012 Libertadores Cup.
Adriano has been secluded from interacting with the remainder of players at Corinthians in order to focus on his physical conditioning. The isolation appears to have paid off as the 29-year-old striker was able to convince head coach Tite of his evolutions and ability to play.
During a recent scrimmage among reserve players, Adriano scored three goals and caught attention of Tite, the coaching staff and club administration.
Apart from Adriano, another surprise in Tite's list is Douglas who recently arrived from Gremio and is yet to play in a match with the team.
Corinthians is expected to leave Brazil for Venezueala on February 13. The club makes its debut in the 2012 Libertadores on February 15 against Deportivo Tachira.
