RIO DE JANEIRO, Nov. 27 (Xinhua) -- The Brazilian Championship title will be determined in the final round after leading teams Corinthians and Vasco da Gama both won their matches in the penultimate round on Sunday.

With a 1-0 win over Figueirense, Corinthians stay in the first place with 70 points while Vasco da Gama's chances of winning this year's championship remain alive after a 2-1 victory over Fluminense, standing in the second place on 68.

Every match of the final round will be held simultaneously on December 4, with Corinthians against Palmeiras and Vasco da Gama versus Flamengo.

Corinthains look to win its fifth Brazilian Championship title, having previously won in 1990, 1998, 1999 and 2005.

Vasco da Gama also look to acquire its fifth national title, having won previously in 1974, 1989, 1997 and 2000.

Apart from Corinthians and Vasco da Gama's race for this year's national title, the participating teams of next year's Libertadores Cup and the South American Cup will also be decided in the final round.
