ROME, Nov. 23 (Xinhua) -- Barcelona head coach Pep Guardiola said he was proud of his team following they 3-2 win over AC Milan at San Siro in a Champions League thriller on Wednesday.
"We are happier compared to the last game," he was quoted by football-italia.net as saying, referring to their 2-2 draw at the Camp Nou.
"Coming here to San Siro to win and putting in a performance like this was not easy. It's always a pleasure to play in this stadium, especially against Milan, who are one of the most successful clubs in the world.
"The crowd is so passionate and always cheers on its players throughout the match.
"We created many scoring opportunities, but so did Milan. At the start we wanted to serve Leo Messi down the right flank, but it wasn't easy with Gianluca Zambrotta there. This is why he was then moved to the centre."
The lead-up to this match was marred by Ibrahimovic's autobiography, which claims Guardiola pushed him out of Barcelona.
"Ibrahimovic? There's no point replying to him, in any case this soap opera won't be shut down," he sighed.
