ROME, Nov. 4 (Xinhua) -- The Serie A game between Genoa and Inter on Sunday has been called off due to flash floods, it was officially announced on Friday.
The Mayor of Genoa, Marta Vincenzi, announced that the Lega Calcio had agreed to reschedule the match.
Heavy rainfall caused flash floods in the city, leading to seven deaths, and the bad weather is expected to continue into Sunday.
The Stadio Luigi Ferraris is in the area worst hit by the floods and there are reports the arena itself is flooded.
Genoa-Inter had been due to kick off at 12.30 a.m. local time on Sunday.
