BERLIN, Oct. 15 (Xinhua) -- Bayern Munich blew Hertha Berlin 4-0 away to continue a clean lead at the German Bundesliga standings after nine rounds.
Thanks to a terrific performance by striker Mario Gomez and Frenchmen midfielder Frank Ribery, Bayern wrapped their fourth consecutive home victory to give Berlin no chance at Allianz Arena.
Staging a fulminate start, striker Mario Gomez opened the scoring after he finished a counter attack launched by midfielder Frank Ribery with only five minutes into the match.
Just two minutes later, Frenchmen Frank Ribery himself doubled the lead when he netted a diagonal pass from defender Jerome Boateng.
Berlin was absolutely over challenged so that Bayern was able to triple the lead through midfielder Bastian Schweinsteiger, who finished an assist by Frank Ribery at the 12th minute.
The Bavarians retracted with the comfortable 3-0 lead but still Hertha Berlin remained incapable to overcome Bayern's well-positioned defence.
At the 69th minute referee Michael Weiner awarded Bayern a penalty after a foul play, consequently, striker Mario Gomez converted the penalty to mark the final 4-0 score.
The Bavarians stay on top with 22 points out of nine matches whilst Berlin stays on 10th position.
