LONDON, Aug. 11 (Xinhua) -- Except Tottenham's home game against Everton, all matches of this season's Premier League opening round will go ahead as scheduled.
A statement from the website of Premier League read, "Following on-going discussions with the Metropolitan Police, statutory authorities and clubs in London, the Premier League can confirm that, aside from the postponed Tottenham Hotspur v Everton match, all League games in the capital will go ahead as scheduled this weekend.
Earlier on Thursday, Tottenham released a statement on their website to announce that "it has been now confirmed that the fixture will be postponed due to safety concerns relating to infrastructure of the High Road and access to the stadium caused by last Saturday's riots.
The riots burst on Saturday after a peaceful protest in Tottenham over the fatal shooting of Mark Duggan by police then spread across London and other cities in England.
