RIO DE JANEIRO, Aug. 6 (Xinhua) -- In the sands of Copacabana beach, home team Brazil beat Colombia 6-2 in the semifinals match of the 2011 FIFA World Cup of Beach Soccer qualifiers.
With two goals from Andre, another from team captain Bruno Malias as well as goals from Anderson, Daneil and Benjamin, Brazil cruised to another easy victory.
The victory and passage to the finals of the tournament automatically qualify Brazil to this year' s World Cup, as with Argentina.
Brazil stands to face archrival Argentina in the finals of the South American/Conmebol qualifiers bracket. Argentina beat Venezuela 3-2 on Saturday.
Both Argentina and Brazil remain undefeated in the competition, making for Sunday' s final match to be a nail-bitter. Thus far, Brazil has scored 51 goals over 5 matches while Argentina has scored a total of 14 goals over 4 games.
The winner of the third place match between Colombia and Venezuela will earn a spot in the 2011 World Cup of Beach Soccer while the fourth place team will be eliminated from the world-wide competition.
The 2011 World Cup of Beach Soccer will take place in Ravenna, Italy, from September 1 to September 11.
