PARIS, April 29 (Xinhua) -- French top league soccer club Monaco extended the contract with the Brazilian defender Pereira da Silva Adriano for another three seasons, the club said on Friday.
"I am very pleased to have extended (the contract). I was very keen on that, and the club also," Adriano said in remarks posted on the club's website.
"I've been in Monaco since four years ago and I'm keeping with it for longer time," he added.
The 29-year-old defender, who joined the French club in 2007, scored three goals so far, offering his club the needed points to secure its place in the fist echelon.
Though based in Monaco, this club is regarded as a French club, as the club plays in the French football league system. It now ranks the 15th with 38 points.
