BUENOS AIRES, April 19 (Xinhua) -- Argentine soccer player Juan Roman Riquelme will be inactive for at least three weeks due to an injury in his abdomen.
He was injured on Sunday during a match between Boca Juniors and Tigre for the 10th date of the local Clausura tournament.
Riquelme said on Tuesday that he believes he will be ready for the match against Independiente on April 29 in La Bombonera stadium of Buenos Aires.
"I think against Independiente I will make everything possible to be in the field with my mates," he told sports TV channel Fox sports.
Riquelme, 32 years old, is a key player in the club coached by Julio Falcioni.
"It even hurts me when I go to the toilet," Riquelme said and added that "perhaps there will pass two months" and will continue feeling "pain when doing a movement."
In the last years, Riquelme has been constantly injured, which has made him to be inactive 16 months since March 2008 to the date.
