BUENOS AIRES, April 11 (Xinhua) -- The coach of the Argentine soccer club Newell's Roberto Sensini on Monday resigned from his post after the team was defeated 0-2 by the club Velez on the 9th date of the local Clausura tournament.
This makes Sensini the fourth coach to resign during the current tournament and follows the resignations by Miguel Brindisi from Huracan, Leonardo Madelon of Quilmes and Fernando Gamboa of Colon de Santa Fe.
According to sources at Newell's, Sensini decided to resign Sunday evening. The coach said three weeks ago that he would leave his post when he lost 0-2 against the team Argentinos, but Newell's managers convinced him to continue.
Newell's now has 5 points and has only had won one match in the current Clausura tournament, after losing two matches and getting two ties.
Sensini came to Newell's in December 2008 following an 8-month stint coaching the Estudiantes de La Plata.
