LONDON, Feb. 21 (Xinhua) -- Patrice Evra has signed a contract extension that will keep him at Old Trafford until at least the end of the 2013-2014 season, announced the Premier League leaders Manchester United on Monday.
Evra, 29, joined the Red Devils in January 2006, scoring three goals.
"Ever since I arrived at United, it's been a dream come true playing here," the Frenchman told ManUtd.com. "The fans, the players, the manager and the staff all work hard to make this club the best in the world."
United manager Alex Ferguson regarded Evra as "one of the world's best left backs", and believed Evra's experience and talent will be increasingly important to the team.
Evra has won three Premier League titles, three League Cups and winners' medals in both the Champions League and the Club World Cup.
"I've won a lot in the last five years, but I want to win more and I know that's the mentality of everyone here," said Evra.
United lead the Premier League table with a four-point advantage to second-placed Arsenal. They also booked a place in the quarterfinals of the FA Cup after a 1-0 victory over non-league Crawley Town on Saturday.
United will visit Marseille on Wednesday in their first leg encounter in the Champions League last 16.
