ERZURUM, Turkey, Feb. 6 (Xinhua) -- Russian men's ice hockey team won the last gold of the Games by ousting Belarus 1-0 in the finals Sunday as the 25th Erzurum World Winter Universiad were closed here.
The gold was the 14th for Russia, which concluded the competitions with 14 gold, 14 silver and 11 bronze to top the medal standings by a big margin.
Canada beat Kazakhstan 3-1 in the bronze medal finals.
Josef Stiegler of the United States finished first in the men's slalom of the Alpine Skiing, timing one minute and 45.71 seconds.
Filip Mlinsek of Slovenia sprinted to the second by 1:45.84 while Carl Lind was on third by 1:45.92.
The United States surpassed China on the gold medal table with four gold and two silver, as China had three gold, three silver and four bronze.
The men's and women's slopestyle events of snowboard were canceled on Sunday.
South Korea, Ukraine, Slovakia, France and Japan finished 2nd-6th placings on the gold medal standings.
The 26th Winter Universiade will be held at Maribor, Slovenia in 2013.
