RIO DE JANEIRO, Dec. 29 (Xinhua) -- The Vasco da Gama soccer team announced on Wednesday the addition of two new players for the 2011 season. Midfielder Eduardo Costa and striker Misael were confirmed to next year's roster.
Eduardo Costa is a transfer from the French team AS Monaco FC. Although a verbal agreement has been made among both teams, an official document regarding the player's release is necessary before signing a loan until June 30, 2011. After that date, the Brazilian team will have the right to extend the 28-year-old's loan.
Misael is a personal desire from Vasco's head coach Paulo Cesar Gusmao. The striker from Ceara is expected to be loaned to the team from Rio de Janeiro for the entire 2011 season. After the loan, Vasco da Gama will have the option of buying the player's rights from Ceara.
Both players are expected to receive their official presentation to the fans and media on January 3.
