TURIN, Nov. 13 (Xinhua) -- Juventus coach Gigi Del Neri said his side deserved to win after they were held to a 1-1 draw by visitors Roma on Saturday.
Ten minutes after Vincenzo Iaquinta opened the scoring, Francesco Totti equalized from the penalty point in the first half injury time to deny the hosts a chance to leapfrog to the second position in the league ranking.
“We played a good game,” Del Neri said.“I can’t complain about the result but I think my men deserved to win tonight."
“We created numerous chances in front of goal but only found the net on one occasion.
“Against a Roma side who have been flying as of late, we put in a determined performance," he said.
The coach was then probed on the missed opportunity at the top of the standings as Juventus failed to jump up to second.
“I am only concerned with my team and not the standings,” added the coach.
