BARCELONA, Sept. 30 (Xinhua) -- Barcelona star Lionel Messi was awarded the Golden Boot here on Thursday.
The Argentine striker scored 34 La Liga goals last season, ahead of Chelsea's Didier Drogba and Udinese's Antonio Di Natale, who both scored 29.
Messi has now joined Marco van Basten, Ronaldo and Cristiano Ronaldo as the only players to win the three major awards - the Golden Boot, FIFA Player of the Year and the Golden Ball.
