RIO DE JANEIRO, Sept. 25 (Xinhua) -- Goias stunned Sao Paulo 3-0 on Saturday in the 25th round of the Brazilian championship.
The home crowd of more than 20,000 booed the Sao Paulo team when they left the stadium.
All of Goias' goals came in the first half. Carlos Alberto scored the opener in the 23rd minute, followed by Rafael Moura in the 35th minute and again in stoppage time of the first half.
Sao Paulo's goalie and captain Rogerio Ceni described his team's defense as absent.
Goias' win was much needed as the team coached by Jorginho attempts to crawl out of the relegation zone of the bottom-four teams of the tournament. The team climbed to 18th place with 24 points.
Sao Paulo's dreams of qualifying for the 2011 Libertadores Cup are slipping away as they have dropped to ninth place with 34 points.
