CANBERRA, Sept. 19 (Xinhua) -- Australia suffered a huge blow in its bid to re-enter the Davis Cup World Group, as tennis player Lleyton Hewitt on Sunday pulled out of the game with Belgium in Cairns of Queensland, Australia.
Australian Hewitt has succumbed to a hand injury ahead of his crucial reverse singles opener against Belgian Olivier Rochus on Sunday.
He has been replaced by Peter Luczak, while both Australia and Belgium are yet to finalize who will play in the final singles rubber, according to the ABC News.
Australia have a 2-1 lead after Hewitt and Paul Hanley won the doubles clash in straight sets on Saturday.
Australia are out for revenge after they were knocked out of the World Group by Belgium in 2007.
