MONTEVIDEO, July 6 (Xinhua) -- The Uruguayan national soccer team on Tuesday lost with dignity against Holland 2-3 at the semifinals of the World Cup of South Africa 2010, different website said.
"The sky blue lost standing," the website of daily El Obervador said and it added that "the last minutes fed the illusion, but it was not enough to get the draw."
The match for Uruguay "was very complicated" and "with the 1-3 to Holland they felt the impact," but "it lasted few minutes and it seemed that Holland could increase the score," El Observador said.
Meanwhile the daily El Pais said that "the Sky blue odyssey is over," it lost against "a better team, but it did it with dignity and the conviction that they can aspire to big achievements."
The website of the local radio station El Espectador headlined "Champions of the courage" and it added that the team coached by Oscar Tabarez lost "with dignity."
Uruguay will play on Saturday to fight for the third place of the World Cup.
