HELSINKI, March 15 (Xinhua) -- The surgery on David Beckham's torn Achilles' tendon has been completed in Turku on Monday.

A spokesman for the AC Milan midfielder said the operation was successful. An official statement was still being prepared.

The 34-year-old former England captain was injured in the closing minutes of AC Milan's 1-0 win over Chievo Verona on Sunday and is expected to miss the World Cup.
