Adriano is with Brazil's squad preparing for the highly-anticipated match on Saturday at Rosario. He hadn't been called up by coach Dunga since he failed to rejoin Inter Milan in April after the World Cup qualifier against Peru.
Adriano missed out on the Confederations Cup in South Africa, and the last time Adriano played in a match for Brazil was in the 2-0 win over Italy in a friendly in February.
"I didn't feel like playing or practicing anymore so I decided to return to stay close to my family," Adriano said. "It was very important to be near the Brazilian people again."
Should Brazil win Saturday's game, along with a Columbian win and a Uruguayan loss, Brazil will guarantee their appearance in South Africa in their hunt for a record 6th World Cup title.
