ROME, May 1 (Xinhua) -- All top three seeds made the semifinals of the Rome Masters men's singles tennis tournament on Friday, with world number one and top seed Rafael Nadal playing the longest in the quarters.

Nadal needed one hour and 50 minutes to dispose of fellow Spanish sixth seed Fernando Verdasco 6-3, 6-3.

Reigning champion Novak Djokovic of Croatia will play world number two Roger Federer of the Switzerland in the last four after the world number three defeated Juan Martin del Potro 6-3, 6-4, and Federer downed German qualifier Mischa Zverev 7-6 (3), 6-2.

    Nadal and Verdasco created six break-point opportunities. He took four of his and his 25-year-old opponent managed only one.
