Real Madrid's new soccer player Klaas Jan Huntelaar of the Netherlands holds up his t-shirt during his presentation ceremony at Santiago Bernabeu stadium in Madrid Dec. 4, 2008. |
"I have come to the best football club in the world and I am going to try and score as many goals as possible," said Huntelaar.
Huntelaar is the sixth Dutch player in the Real Madrid squad and as a result, he doesn't foresee any problems settling into a new dressing room.
"I think it is going to be easy to integrate here. There are a lot of players from Holland and some of them (Wes Sneijder) played alongside me at Ajax," he explained.
The striker will cover for the injured Ruud Van Nistelrooy, who will miss the campaign with a knee problem. But Huntelaar admitted that whatever happened, he already had a ticket to join Real Madrid.
"I have spoken to a lot of people and they all have shown me how much the club wants me to be here. I was going to come here at the end of the season, but it has been brought forward because of injuries," he said.
