BEIJING, March 21 (Xinhua) -- A draft law on inspectors serving within supervisory commissions has been submitted to the National People's Congress Standing Committee, an official with the top supervisory agency announced Saturday.
The building of an inspector system was proposed during the reform of the national supervisory institutions and drafting of the supervision law, said Xia Xiaodong, an official with the Communist Party of China Central Commission for Discipline Inspection and the National Supervisory Commission.
The supervision law was adopted in March 2018, which authorizes supervisory commissions to oversee everyone working in public office.
The legislation for inspectors aims to foster highly qualified inspectors, carry out effective administration and supervision over them, safeguard their rights and interests, guarantee the fulfillment of their duties and advance procedure- and law-based anti-corruption work, Xia said.
The drafting of the law was based on extensive research and consultations, Xia added.
