BEIJING, Jan. 7 (Xinhua) -- The Supreme People's Procuratorate (SPP) and the All-China Women's Federation have jointly issued a circular calling for stronger action on crimes that infringe on the rights and interests of women and children.
The circular emphasizes establishing a social support system for the judicial protection of juveniles and improving the system of laws for protecting women and children.
Organizations of the women's federation at all levels should transfer any clues related to cases involving domestic violence, sexual harassment or other infringements of rights and interests of women and children to procuratorates in time, according to the circular.
Procuratorates that receive such clues should immediately deal with them. For cases involving sexual assaults against juveniles, procuratorates should monitor the timely filing of the cases by public security organs to ensure effective punishments are administered.
The SPP and the All-China Women's Federation will convene regularly and establish mechanisms for training and personnel exchanges, so as to further advance the improvement of laws, regulations and public policies closely related to the interests of women and children, according to the circular.
