CHENGDU, July 19 (Xinhua) -- A senior official of the Communist Party of China (CPC) on Friday called for efforts to push the deepening reform in political and legal fields.
Guo Shengkun, a member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and head of the Commission for Political and Legal Affairs of the CPC Central Committee, made the remarks at a meeting on advancing the work in deepening reform in political and legal fields in Chengdu, southwest China's Sichuan Province.
Guo required focusing on strengthening the Party's absolute leadership over political and legal work and improving legal affairs organs' functions.
The comprehensive and integrated reform of the country's judicial system should be advanced, with the focus on addressing issues regarding judicial accountability, supervision and restriction and case handling, so as to improve the quality, efficiency and credibility of law enforcement and judicial work, he said.
He stressed efforts to accurately implement all sorts of reform measures, ensure new achievements be made in reform in political and legal fields and continue to improve people's sense of fulfillment.
