BEIJING, May 31 (Xinhua) -- Chinese Vice President Li Yuanchao on Wednesday called on Chinese Young Pioneers (CYP) to guide children to contribute to the realization of the Chinese dream.
Li, who is also a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, made the remarks when meeting elementary school students ahead of International Children's Day.
During his visit to Beijing Haidian District Experimental Primary School, he encouraged Young Pioneers to be innovative and love the country and the people.
Li called on CYP to guide children to realize the Chinese dream of national rejuvenation.
Founded in 1949 and led by the Communist Party of China, the CYP is a national mass organization for Chinese children aged 6 to 14 years, mostly primary and secondary school students.
