BEIJING, Sept. 30 (Xinhua) -- China is at the beginning of a new Long March towards the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation, the Communist Party of China's mouthpiece People Daily said in an editorial to be published on Oct.1, China's National Day.
Citing a list of achievements China has made over the past 67 years -- such as this month's G20 Hangzhou summit and launch of the Tiangong-2 space lab -- the editorial, nonetheless, struck a rather cautious tone, saying the journey forward is "by no means an untroubled picnic trip."
Rather, the country must be ready to face major challenges and risks, to break new ground and make new history, it read.
The Party must "stay true to the mission," and place the well-being of the people in the center, the editorial said.
It stressed that the current momentum must be sustained to deepen reform and make new progress on the journey toward rejuvenation.
