BEIJING, Dec. 30 (Xinhua) -- Senior leaders of the Communist Party of China (CPC) have called for "rock-solid will and resolve" to ensure the success of the Party's clean governance and anti-corruption campaign.
They also agreed that the sixth plenary session of the 18th CPC Central Commission for Discipline Inspection (CCDI) will convene on Jan. 12-14 next year, according to a statement released after a meeting of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee on Wednesday.
The meeting was presided over by Xi Jinping, general secretary of the CPC Central Committee.
The year 2015 had seen huge progress and improved public confidence in the campaign to strictly govern the Party and punish violators, such as Zhou Yongkang and Ling Jihua, according to the statement.
Perseverance was needed to successfully implement the CPC Central Committee's policies against extravagance and corruption and enforce the Party's code of conduct, it said.
Party members should adhere to the Party's code of conduct and senior officials should follow even stricter requirements, according to the statement.
In addition, there must be no opportunity for officials to slip back in to bureaucracy, hedonism and other undesirable work styles, the document said.
Participants of the meeting also called for improved procedures to select loyal, honest and responsible inspectors for the Party's discipline watchdog.
