BEIJING, Oct. 23 (Xinhua) -- China's senior security official Meng Jianzhu on Friday held separate meetings with officials from Cambodia, Vietnam and Russia on bilateral law enforcement cooperation.
The foreign officials were Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister and Interior Minister Sar Kheng; Vietnamese Minister of Public Security Tran Dai Quang; and Russian Interior Minister Vladimir Kolokoltsev.
They attended the China-ASEAN Ministerial Dialogue on Law Enforcement & Security Cooperation under the theme "Security for Prosperity" earlier Friday in Beijing, in which Meng, head of the Commission for Political and Legal Affairs of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, made a speech on multinational security cooperation along the Mekong River.
When he met with Sar Kheng, Meng hailed the significant progress of the security cooperation between China and Cambodia. He called on both sides to enhance cooperation in combating transnational crime, safeguarding cyber security and other fields.
During the meeting with Tran Dai Quang, Meng spoke highly of China-Vietnam cooperation on drug control, the crackdown on human trafficking as well as other issues.
When speaking with Kolokoltsev, Meng spoke about the important components of the China-Russia comprehensive strategic partnership of coordination, such as bilateral law enforcement and security cooperation, which he said were at an all-time high. He vowed to strengthen bilateral ties in this regard.
The foreign officials echoed Meng's remarks, expressed willingness to further promote security cooperation with China.
