BEIJING, Aug. 1 (Xinhua) -- Soldiers and officers of the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) and armed police force have expressed support for the graft probe of former military leader Guo Boxiong, according to a report in the Saturday edition of the PLA Daily.
It said the personnel view the decision to expel Guo from the Communist Party of China (CPC) and transfer his case to military prosecutors displays the CPC's resolve to maintain discipline and its responsible attitude in upholding the Party's code of conduct and the state's laws.
The military area commands of Shenyang, Beijing, Lanzhou, Jinan, Nanjing, Guangzhou and Chengdu have also pledged to learn from the corruption cases of Guo and Xu Caihou, another former military leader.
The military and armed police have organized meetings on Guo's case and agreed that only with serious and determined efforts to fight corruption can the Party and military stay united and win public trust, the newspaper said.
In another article carried by the PLA Daily, the newspaper urged strengthened anti-corruption education, management and supervision among the military, especially among senior officers.
Facing the situation of complex ideological conflicts, looming social disputes and problems in some corruption-prone sectors, education, management and supervision must be carried out in a regular and strict manner, it said.
