BEIJING, July 31 (Xinhua) -- Chinese Vice President Li Yuanchao met on Friday with Sam Kutesa, president of the 69th UN General Assembly (UNGA), pledging to deepen cooperation between China and the United Nations.
This year marks the 70th anniversary of the UN, Li said, and China is willing to join the international community in maintaining the fruits of the victory in WWII and the basic norms of international relations based on the UN Charter.
Li said China is willing to work with the international community to build a new type of international relations underpinned by win-win cooperation.
Li said China hopes parties can reach consensus on the UN-led post-2015 development agenda at an early date.
Kutesa said the UN is willing to make joint efforts with China to promote these issues, including the post-2015 development agenda, and tackle climate change.
