BEIJING, Oct. 9 (Xinhua) -- Top military officials of China and Zimbabwe agreed on Thursday to enhance ties between their armed forces.
Chinese Defense Minister Chang Wanquan and his visiting Zimbabwean counterpart Sydney Sekeramayi made the pledge during their an hour's meeting.
State councilor Chang said China and Zimbabwe enjoyed a profound traditional friendship, adding that the two militaries made frequent group visits and cooperated well in personnel training.
"Chinese military is willing to continue enhancing exchanges with Zimbabwe to develop our friendly ties," Chang said.
Expressing gratitude for China's political, moral and material support for Zimbabwe, Sekeramayi said Zimbabwe's armed forces are ready to strengthen exchanges and cooperation with Chinese side.
