BEIJING, Jan. 14 (Xinhua) -- Chinese Defense Minister Chang Wanquan on Tuesday held talks with visiting Danish counterpart Nicolai Wammen to promote cooperation.

Chang, also a state councilor, said military relations is an important part of bilateral ties and that China is ready to expand bilateral military exchanges and cooperation in a pragmatic way.

Wammen said Denmark values its relations with China, and that the Danish armed forces is willing to strengthen exchanges and cooperation with the Chinese armed forces in marine escort, peacekeeping and other areas.
