PANAMA CITY, Oct. 18 (Xinhua) -- Elias Castillo, president of the Latin American Parliament, met here Friday with Qiangba Puncog, vice chairman of China's National People's Congress (NPC) Standing Committee.

Welcoming the Chinese NPC delegation headed by Qiangba Puncog, Castillo said that the inter-parliamentary cooperation between Latin America and China has a solid foundation.

Qiangba Puncog, for his part, said that China attaches great importance to its relations with Latin America.

They also exchanged views on further advancing the friendly cooperative relations between Latin America and China, as well as the inter-parliamentary relations.

The Chinese NPC delegation, which arrived here Thursday, will attend the annual meeting of Latin America Parliament as an observer on Saturday.
