TAIPEI, Feb. 28 (Xinhua) -- Zeng Peiyan, chairman of the mainland-based China Center for International Economic Exchanges, and Lien Chan, honorary chairman of the Kuomintang, expressed expectations Thursday for deepened cross-strait economic cooperation.
They made the remarks during Zeng's five-day visit to Taiwan at the invitation of the Taiwan-based Cross-Straits Common Market Foundation.
Zeng said cross-strait economic cooperation still has room to grow and will lead to mutual benefit.
Lien noted that cross-strait economic cooperation has grown rapidly during the past few years, especially following the signing of the Economic Cooperation Framework Agreement in 2010.
Lien said it is important to adapt to emerging situations, use respective competitive advantages and further promote cross-strait economic and trade ties.
