BEIJING, Nov. 14 (Xinhua) -- China opposes the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction and their means of delivery, Foreign Ministry spokesman Hong Lei reiterated at a regular press briefing Wednesday.
He made the comments in response to a question regarding reports which said that the Republic of Korea authorities seized a Chinese ship en route to Syria in May and that the Chinese ship was carrying suspected missile parts manufactured by the Democratic People's Republic of Korea.
Hong said the Chinese side has noticed relevant reports, however, what should be stressed is that China opposes the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction and their means of delivery, and strictly follows relevant export control resolutions of the U.N. Security Council and firmly implements its own laws and regulations on non-proliferation and export control.
"We will deal with activities which violate U.N. Security Council resolutions and Chinese laws and regulations," Hong added.
