BEIJING, May 13 (Xinhua) -- A middle school teacher in northeast China's Heilongjiang province, who was injured from saving students, is still in critical condition, sources with the Ministry of Health (MOH) said on Sunday.
The MOH has sent five medical experts to help treat the injured teacher, Zhang Lili.
Zhang has been transferred to a top-level hospital in Heilongjiang province on Saturday, but is still in critical condition. The five injured students are in relatively stable conditions, but still have to stay in hospital for intensive observations.
Zhang Lili, a 29-year-old teacher at the No. 19 middle school in the city of Jiamusi, was crossing the road just outside the school's gate when a school bus suddenly came rushing toward nearby students at 8:38 p.m. Tuesday. Zhang pushed two students out of the way of the bus, but she herself was run over.
