BEIJING, April 28 (Xinhua) -- Defense Minister Liang Guanglie on Saturday met with a Malawian military delegation headed by Patrick V. Kachimera, permanent secretary of the Malawi Ministry of Defense.
Liang, who is also a state councilor, said China and Malawi have enhanced mutual understanding and trust and made great progress in multiple fields since the establishment of diplomatic relations in 2007.
Liang thanked Kachimera for Malawi's firm support on issues concerning China's core interests, adding that China is willing to work with Malawi to further promote the two countries' relations.
He said bilateral military relations have made satisfactory progress and China will work with Malawi to make new achievements in this area.
Kachimera thanked Liang for China's help and support, adding that he hopes to enhance military-to-military relations with China and promote military cooperation during his visit.
