Zhai said that the vice president has also placed great importance on the role of humanistic and cultural exchanges in promoting state-to-state relations.
During his visit to Singapore, Xi unveiled a monument commemorating late Chinese leader Deng Xiaoping (1904-1997) and attended a founding ceremony for a Chinese culture center.
Xi also called on the two sides to enhance youth exchanges, according to Zhai.
While visiting South Africa, Xi said that China will largely increase a scholarship allocation for South African students to study in China. In Angola, leaders of the two nations agreed to further strengthen their exchanges and cooperation in the humanistic area, including education, health, science and technology, sports and journalism as well as human resources training.
During his visit to Botswana, Xi pledged that China would continue to provide scholarships and training programs for students from Botswana.
The leaders of the four nations pledged to work together with China to deepen friendship and promote exchanges between both peoples, Zhai said.
