BEIJING, Nov. 25 (Xinhua) -- "The Rescue," a new disaster film by award-winning director Dante Lam, is set for release in China on Jan. 25, 2020, the Chinese Lunar New Year's Day, according to the China Film Distribution and Exhibition Association.
The film depicts the bravery of a maritime emergency response team leader starring Eddie Peng and his co-workers who rush to the rescue after a severe maritime accident occurs.
Lam, a winner of the Hong Kong Film Award for Best Director, over the weekend won the 32nd China Film Golden Rooster Award for best director for the blockbuster film "Operation Red Sea."
"Operation Red Sea," released in China in February 2018, grossed 3.65 billion yuan (about 518 million U.S. dollars) in total tickets revenue at box office.
