BEIJING, July 23 (Xinhua) -- The Chinese version of musical "My Bucket List" is to be staged at Haidian Theater in Beijing on Aug. 3, 4, 6 and 7.
In the musical, 19-year-old Liu Bao who is seriously ill hires his former classmate Yang Xiaoyu, a rebellious, suicidal teenager to help him complete his bucket list during his last few days of life. By doing things written in the bucket list like marrying his idol and giving a concert, the two teenagers get a deeper understanding about life and death.
Adapted from the Republic of Korea musical of the same name, "My Bucket List" was regarded as a work helping teenagers to learn the meaning of life and preventing them from suicide.
While keeping the general structure of its original version, many Chinese jokes are carefully mixed into this version. It's a story of laughter, instead of one of tears.
