BEIJING, July 24 (Xinhuanet) -- Dinosaur blockbuster "Jurassic World" sequel will hit the cinema in June 2018, according to the Universal Pictures.
Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard will reprise their roles for the follow-up film. Colin Trevorrow will co-write the script for the sequel with Derek Connolly.
Steven Spielberg who was the director of Jurassic Park in 1993 and the sequel in 1997, will be executive producer, while Frank Marshall will serve as producer.
But the director for the sequel has not been confirmed so far.
The Jurassic World released in June has achieved a great success in the history of Universal by earning 1.52 billion U.S. dollars at box offices worldwide. It is beaten only by 2009’s "Avatar" (2.79 billion U.S. dollars) and 1997's "Titanic" (2.19 billion U.S. dollars), according to the statistics recorded by box office tracker Exhibitor Relations.
