BEIJING, July 22 (Xinhuanet) -- 22-years-old pop star Miley Cyrus announced on her Instagram that she will be the host of the 2015 Video Music Award ceremony, according to media reports on Wednesday.

Miley will be the first host of the award show since Kevin Hart in 2012, as the awards ceremonies in the last two years have gone host-less.

On her social media account, Cyrus posted one photo of herself dressing up like a alien and wearing a sandwich broad saying that "MTV won't let me perform" and "so I'm hosting this year's VMAs."

On 2013 MTV Video Music Awards, Cyrus did a rump-sharking performance with Robin Thicke and a giant foam finger, which shocked most audiences.

The 2015 MTV Video Music Awards will air live from L.A.’s Microsoft Theater at 9 p.m ET on Sunday, August 30.
