BEIJING, Sept. 2 (Xinhuanet) -- Dozens of U.S. Female celebrities' intimate images were stolen and posted online Sunday, including Jennifer Lawrence, Kate Upton, Ariana Grande and other actresses, models and athletes.
Oscar-winning actress Jennifer Lawrence has contacted the authorities to investigate the leak, her spokeswoman said on Monday.
However, some of the private nude pictures are said to be possibly fake.
Ariana Grande quickly denied, noting that the pictures are authentic.
A spokesman for the FBI said the agency "is aware of the allegations concerning computer intrusions and the unlawful release of material involving high profile individuals, and is addressing the matter."
So far, no suspects have been apprehended in the incident, which reports say was the result of a large-scale phone hacking operation.
