LOS ANGELES, June 15 (Xinhua) -- Two popular television stars, Melissa McCarthy and Joshua Jackson, have been named as guests who will proclaim the nominated hit dramas and performers next month, the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences announced Wednesday.
McCarthy, who starred as Molly in CBS sitcom "Mike & Molly," and sci-fi drama "Fringe" star Jackson will join John Shaffner, academy chairman and CEO, to announce the nominations during a ceremony on July 14 at the Academy's Leonard H. Goldenson Theater in North Hollywood.
McCarthy, a regular on "Gilmore Girls," also acted as a member of the dysfunctional bridal party in Universal Pictures' comedy "Bridesmaids." Jackson played a role opposite Bruce Willis and Catherine Zeta-Jones in "Lay the Favorite," a dramedy scheduled for release by Random House Films in 2012.
The 63rd Annual Primetime Emmy Awards is scheduled for Sept. 18 at the Nokia Theater. The gala will be hosted by Jane Lynch who won an Emmy Award and a Golden Globe Award for her role in the Fox musical-comedy "Glee."
The event will be televised live by Fox from Nokia Theater in Los Angeles.
