BEIJING, May 18 (Xinhuanet) -- The upcoming all-star Chinese film "The Founding of a Party" has released two trailers in which at least 50 celebrities appear consecutively.
One of the trailers outlines the film's portrayal of the early history of the Communist Party of China. The other trailer, edited in a comparably more lighthearted manner, contains behind-the-scenes footage.
The film, one of the biggest domestic releases for this summer, features 100-plus Chinese celebrities who flesh out a slew of historical figures. Among them, Liu Ye plays Mao Zedong. Chen Kun plays Zhou Enlai, and Chang Chen plays Chiang Kai-shek.
Co-directors Han Sanping and Huang Jianxin have reused the all-star strategy from their 2009 extravaganza "The Founding of a Republic" which quickly became the top-grossing Chinese film of that year.
"The Founding of a Party" will be released on June 15 in time for the July 1 celebrations of the 90th anniversary of the Communist Party of China.
